To Grandmothers House We Go

The middle of July we took a family vacation to Southern Alberta to visit Grandma and Grandpa Nilsson.  We arrived just in time to celebrate Stirling days and the kids enjoyed all of the fun.  Early Saturday morning Ava and I woke up to run in the 2km road race.  We were going to run the 5km, but we decided last minute that it would be best to stick to the shorter distance.  Ava did so well and ran most of the way.  We'll have to train this year, so she'll be ready to run the 5km in 2015.

The parade is always a big hit, especially because they throw so much candy and the kids were in heaven.  There were a lot of neat floats too.  For a small town they do a pretty good job.

Carter and daddy getting their gardening on!!

Visiting Grandma Baker and taking her for a walk around the pond.

This cutie made the biggest mess eating his popsicle, so what better way to clean off than in the hose. He thought drinking all the water was the greatest.

Visiting Grandpa Nilsson in his humble little abode. He bought Jimmer a wooden Santa Claus because he knew that Jimmer was scared of Santa from the previous Christmas. It was the sweetest thing and Jimmer and Carter both thought that this wooden Santa was the coolest.

Happy Birthday to My 3 Year Old!!

My big boy celebrated his 3rd birthday the end of July and had so much fun celebrating with family and all his favorite super hero's. He has been through many different phases in the last year from Bubble Guppies to Jake and the Neverland Pirate to dinosaurs to Toy Story and now he's all about super hero's.  It can be hard to try to plan a birthday when he is constantly changing his mind, but it all worked out and he was thrilled with the results. Jimmer is full of all sorts of attitude and he has the facial expressions to show it. He has been talking about going to school for quite some time now, but this momma is not ready to send her little boy into that quite yet. Once I have the baby maybe I will regret that decision, but for now I love having him around and we always enjoy our outings to the park and walks. He has been saying the funniest things lately as he seems to take things that the grown ups say and use them when he shouldn't. He likes to refer to his blankies as his "damn blankies" and one of his favorites is "damn it well". He also likes to call his daddy and myself by our first names and it sounds too cute to stop him right away.  One day he says to me, "calm down sister." His favorite song right now is Rude and likes to say to me and his dad, "Why you gotta be so rude." There is never a dull moment with this little boy around and he is constantly making us laugh and being silly.  We love you Jimmer and will be surprised with what this next year holds for you!!

Life Is About To Get a Whole Lot Crazy

On July 7th I had my first ultrasound and we found out that we are having...

A BOY!!

I need to prepare myself for all the craziness that will take place in December.

Boys Will Be Boys

The end of June, beginning of July we had some special visitors for a week.  Cousins Brendan and Jarrod flew in from Kamloops to spend the week with Ava, Jimmer and Carter.  Shane was able to take a couple days off work to make sure that they had a fun trip and got to experience some Alberta living.
