Wishing I Was Anywhere But Here!!

I have been sick for the past week...stayed home from work yesterday and I so wish that I was home in bed again today. Instead I am sitting here at work wishing that I was on some warm tropical island or down in Utah with my family. It will only be two weeks until I'm down in Newport Beach enjoying some good family time, shopping, and of course the beach!!

B-best friend: I have been blessed to have great friends wherever I go and therefore it would have to be Kim Wong in Edmonton, Tanya Fernandez in Calgary, and Mandy Peterson in Logan.

C-Cake or Pie: Oooh...that's a tough one because I am a succor for desserts of any kind. I have such a sweet tooth, but I would have to say pie because seriously my dad is the best pie maker around.

D-Day of choice: What better day then Friday...the day that I anticipate the whole week although Sunday is close behind because it's the only day I don't have to work!!

E-Essential Items: Debit card, cell phone, lip gloss, gum, Diet Pepsi with lime.

F-Fact or fiction: Fiction. I enjoy nonfiction and documentaries and all, but there's a lot to be said for curling up with a good novel or a fun flick.

G-Graduation: High school was 1998; Ricks was... well that was a long time ago...Dec of 2000.

H-Hometown: Stirling...yes that is in Alberta

I-Indulgences: Ice cream and cheesecake, retail therapy at the BR

J-January or July: July, for sure...hate Edmonton winters

K-Kids: Someday I hope to have a couple. For now I will just adore my nieces and nephews and give them back at the end of the day.

L-Life is incomplete with out: The gospel and good friends and family.

M-Marriage date: Eventually someday...maybe!!

N-Number of siblings: 1 brother and 2 sisters.

O-Old or new: New...that way I can have it just the way I like it.

P-Phobias or Fears: My biggest fear is being alone or dying in a car accident.

Q-Quotes: Wow, there's a ton - I love quotes. One that I recently found was "Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude."

R-Reason to smile: Each day we have the opportunity to start over again and do better than the day before! Ayden, Spencer, Dallin, Jaxon, Halle, Mya, and Lucy!!

S-Superhero: I'd have to say Superman.

T-Transportation: My pearly white Acura TSX.

U-Unknown fact about me: Way back in the day I went to a WWF fight...saw Jake the Snake and Undertaker. Even snuck into the ring afterwards and bounced around until the security guards kicked us out.

V-Vacation: Anywhere warm and tropical...where I can lie out and do nothing. I also have to go to Utah at least once or twice a year.

W-Worst Habit: I'm a clean freak and I tend to nag on my sister when things don't look the way I think they should.

X-Xavier or Magneto: Xavier, of course! Go X-Men!

Y-Your favorite food: Mom's homecooked meatballs and rice although I love the cafe rio sweet pork salad and anything from CPK.

Z-Zebra or leopard: Ummm, leopard print. And yes, I recognize the lameness of the question I made up, but there aren't many Z options out there!

Cooking It Up!!

I was sure that Archuleta had it in the bag, but apparently the rest of America didn't feel the same way. Cook won it by a landslide!! I love them both and they'll be going places for sure. Cook has more of an air about him whereas Archuleta is so humble and is just doing what he loves!!

And the Winner Is...

DAVID????

Tonight is the night when we find out who the winner of American Idol will be...will it be David Cook or David Archuleta. My favorite has always been Archuleta, but after Cook sang Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith last week my opinion was kind of swaying just a little. After last nights performances though I'm back on with Archuleta and will be very surprised if the outcome is any different. I get goosebumps every time I hear him sing!!

Thanks to the Queen!!

In Canada, the celebration of Victoria Day occurs every year on Monday, prior to May 25th. It is the official celebration in Canada of the birthdays of Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. Victoria Day was established as a holiday in Canada West (Now Ontario) in 1845, and became a national holiday in 1901. Before Victoria Day became a national Holiday, people had celebrated Empire Day , beginning in the 1890s as Victoria approached her Diamond jubilee in 1897.

Thanks to Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth I was able to have a little break from the regular routine of coming to work, which by the way I am getting so sick of. I was able to wake up late, go for an extra long run; stopping at Kristi and Jared's for a little game of football and soccer with the little boys, did laundry, went grocery shopping, and bought a new pair of runners...now I don't have to suffer through my runs anymore. Played a little volleyball last night at FHE and ended the evening with a well needed hot tub!! Who could ask for better?!

Change It Up

While most people go lighter for the summer months I decided to do that exact opposite. I figured that my hair was pretty light already and wanted different and different I got. Here is a sneak peak at my new look.

London Calling

Was anyone else SO disappointed with last nights Bachelor? I guess that it started with my disappointment of Amanda getting the boot a couple episodes ago...I had her pegged from the beginning to win the whole thing. Matt obviously fell more in love with Shayne Lamas then any other as that was the choice of the evening. Choice of the evening being the key words as I really don't think that this relationship will last much longer then that. I think that her father said it best when he said that she was only on this show to get further in her career. She's pretty excessive...over the top and I hope for Matt's sake that she turns out just like her mother!! :)

My Summer Flings!!

I have finally been enjoying some nice weather and I just hope that it stays around. I have been itching for summer to arrive as there are so many good things that come along with it. It's just too bad that I live in Edmonton and can only enjoy a couple weeks of this blessed season....here's for hoping that June, July, and August will be filled with sunny days. These are just a few of the things that I'm looking forward to the most...

My feet get all clostrophobic when I have to wear socks all the time. By the time March comes I am so ready to ditch the boots and live in sandals and flats.

I love the color that comes along with the latest fashions. I'm such a brown and black kind of girl, but when summer comes around I like to liven it up a little with some color!!

Winter sports really don't appeal to me at all...I enjoy watching a little hockey, but to actually play and participate in any of them really isn't too exciting. I'd much rather play or watch a good baseball game.

Once the streets are sweaped I'll pull out the rollerblades and I've been thinking about possibly buying a bike. I also love summer for the sole fact that I can now run outside rather then stare at a wall while running on the treadmill.

My all time favorite thing about summer is spending time in the water, whether it entails going to the beach, boating on the lake, swimming in the pool, or tanning by the pool...I love it!! I love everything about it.

Made to Honor!!

A must see for 2008 would have to be Made of Honor with Patrick Dempsey. He starts out being a super huge jerk that flirts and sleeps with every girl around until he realizes that there is more to life then pleasuring himself. Unfortunately he realizes this too late as the woman of his dreams has been engaged to wed in like two weeks...really who does that anymore. He is asked to be the made of honor and accepts only because he wants to sabbotage the one thing that truely makes him happy!!
