Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my sweet husband who loves his family so much and works so hard to provide everything we need.  He has given me everything a girl could want and best of all he has given me these two beautiful kids.  It has already been 3 years and it's crazy how quickly the time passes.  We were supposed to get family pictures taken last week, but due to the rain we had to cancel.  We are now going to get them taken today, but I'm looking out the window right now at all the nasty clouds in the sky.  I'm wondering if it will happen...

A Week Late

Last Sunday as everyone knows was Father's Day.  We had what you could call "Super Dad" day.  I got this idea off Pinterest and had fun decorating for our special husband and father.  Shane does so much for our little family and were are so thankful to have him in our lives.  We had an amazing steak dinner and ice cream cake to follow...nothing better than spending time with family and good food.

Calgary Zoo

Last week we went down to Calgary at the last minute for my uncle's funeral.  We wish that we could have gone down for better reasons, but because the funeral was on Wednesday and Shane had Friday off work, we weren't going to hurry back to Hinton.  Instead we stayed in Calgary at my sister and her husbands house and had a great time with them.  They were very hospitable and made us feel very welcome.  The highlight of the trip for the little ones was going to the Calgary Zoo.  We met up with my cousin Johanna and her kids.  I hadn't seen her new little guy, so it was fun to catch up and spend some time together.  Ava loved running wild with Jacey and Gia.  Their favorite was the penguin exhibit and as you can see from the pictures it was Jimmer's favorite as well.  He couldn't take his eyes off of them.

First peacock that we saw wondering around.

The long haired penguin.

Excited to see the penguins.

The hippo snorted at the girls and they thought that was pretty funny.

The giraffes were one of my favorites.

Jimmer cared more about his water than the giraffe.

Playing at the park.  It was funny because they had actual parking spots for all the strollers.

Ava's my little poser.

This was the butterfly exhibit and it was so neat to see them fly right in front of your face.

The red panda.

The girls paid $5 and got to ride on the carousal and the train as much as they wanted.

Thanks Johanna for meeting up with us.  We enjoyed spending the time with you and your family.

We captured this gem of a picture on the way out of the zoo.  Fashion disaster!
